Still alive still Growing
“CHAIM AT SEVENTEEN”
Janis Ian original “SEVENTEEN”
I learned the truth at seventeen. The pain of living in
between
When life was full of lofty goals. When tomorrow comes. I’ll
choose my role
But in a time well before then. I was too young to understand.
That a path has too ways and not three. There is no joy to
in between!
I crawled and walked at the same time. Always time to soothe
my mind.
They’d watch me try to ease my pain. My whole wide work was
left to blame
Some chose glitter; Some chose gold. I chose pebbles rocks and stones.
And all I did was dream…so in between
The pull upon me became strong. To do what’s right to love
what’s wrong.
I looked up high to catch the stars. I stayed so still I
didn’t get far.
It seemed so often my reaction. No “sepuke” and no
satisfaction.
The lure of sin can be so mean. If you live your life so in
between!
But it’s not crucial what you say
Just start by sitting down to pray
‘To ride the fence I can’t resist
And H-shem I can’t go on like this!
I cannot take this anymore
I yearn to soar where eagles soar
Where the air is pure and clean
No in betweens!’
Nice,, keep going... i hear you need funding to keep this site going. how much do you need
